Wala pang kapalit! Duterte appoints OICs for DICT, DOH
President Rodrigo Duterte appears to have no persons in mind yet to fill the posts vacated by former Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial and former Department of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Rodolfo Salalima.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella on Thursday (October 12) announced the appointment of Undersecretary Eliseo Mijares Rio Jr. as DICT officer in charge (OIC) and Undersecretary Herminigildo Valle as OIC for the Department of Health (DOH).
Their appointment papers were signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea on Duterte’s authority.
Salalima resigned in September, allegedly due to “interference and corruption” he experienced in connection with the government’s multibillion-peso national broadband project.
Duterte, however, said he told Salalima to resign for favoring Globe Telecoms, his former employer.
Ubial was rejected by the Commission on Appointments (CA) earlier this week.
