Duterte defends Isabelle’s photo shoot: Lahat ng nagpupunta sa Malacañang nagpapa-picture
President Rodrigo Duterte doesn’t understand what the fuss is about surrounding his granddaughter’s pre-debut photo shoot in Malacañang.
In a speech at Senator Manny Pacquiao’s birthday party Sunday (December 18), the President said Isabelle Duterte’s photo shoot should not be a big deal because she is a relative.
“Small matter, gamitin lang ‘yung Malacañan. Wala naman ako doon. But even if I was there, itong granddaughter ko magpa-picture, lahat nga ng mga bisita pumupunta diyan, nagpapa-picture eh,” he said at the birthday party in General Santos City.
“You know, that girl, she’s going to be 18 years old. Ang nanay niyan, Maranao, ang tatay niyan, Tausug,” Duterte added.
Isabelle’s father is Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, the President’s eldest son.
Photos uploaded by members of Isabelle’s glam team online showed her posing at various areas in Malacañang in couture gowns and dresses.
At least two photos featured Isabelle posing with the presidential seal.
The photo shoot drew criticism over the use of Malacañang as a venue and the opulence surrounding it.
