Aarestuhin na ba? Makati judge eyes decision on Trillanes’ coup case by Oct. 22
Makati Judge Andres Soriano might release this Monday (Oct. 22) the resolution whether to issue or not an arrest warrant against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
“Most likely Monday,” said his clerk of court, Maria Rhodora Malabag-Peralta.
Judge Soriano had already submitted for resolution last Oct. 12 the motion of the Department of Justice (DOJ) which sought the issuance of the arrest warrant against Trillanes.
The DOJ filed the motion after President Rodrigo Duterte issued Proclamation No. 572 which declared as void the amnesty of Trillanes over his participation in the 2003 Oakwood mutiny and 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.
Soriano is handling the coup d’etat case against Trillanes concerning the Oakwood mutiny.
Trillanes already posted a P200,000 bail after Makati Judge Elmo Alameda granted the motion of the DOJ to issue an arrest warrant against the senator.
Alameda is handling the rebellion case against Trillanes over the Manila Peninsula siege.
