Medialdea denies report on extended leave

Jun 19, 2017 @ 14:50

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea has denied Politiko’s report that he has been absent from his office these past few days.

In a text message to reporters Monday (June 19), Medialdea said: “The only thing that is true in the article is my age.”

Politiko wrote that the 52-year-old Medialdea has been on an extended leave lately, with no word on his possible return to office.

His absence has fueled talk that the President might look for a new “little president” soon if he decides to quit as Executive Secretary.

Medialdea was last seen in public at the Office of the Solicitor General’s 116th anniversary at Pasay City on June 8, when he represented President Rodrigo Duterte who was in Mindanao at that time.
