Weh? Dayan’s fear of prosecution led to inconsistencies – Aguirre

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II believes that he knows what caused the inconsistencies in Ronnie Dayan’s testimony: his fear of prosecution over the illegal drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Dayan, Senator Leila de Lima’s former lover and driver, gave his testimony before the House of Representatives Thursday (November 24) but his statements did not match with that of previous witnesses.
“Kaya pag napaliwanagan siguro na ang kanyang sasabihin basta’t katotohanan ay will earn him immunity at wala na siyang takot sa anumang prosecution then I believe baka magbago ang isip ni Ronnie Dayan,” said Aguirre.
Aguirre said that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will get another affidavit from Dayan once he returns on November 29 from visiting his family in Pangasinan.
The Secretary cited that Dayan was supposed to be placed under the Witness Protection Program (WPP) on a provisional basis last Thursday.
