Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro “Teddyboy” Locsin Jr. might be asked to stay on in his post by President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Politiko has learned.
An Iskooper told Politiko that Locsin’s effectiveness as the country’s top diplomat is seen as an asset by the incoming administration.
The 73-year-old Locsin was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte to head the DFA in 2018 following the resignation of Alan Peter Cayetano to seek a congressional seat.
Locsin was the speechwriter of the late former President Corazon Aquino and also served as her spokesperson.
Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel “Babes” Romualdez recently said he has been asked by Marcos to stay on in his post.
