A true patriot: Carpio mourns death of ‘indefatigable’ West PH Sea defender Roilo Golez
Acting Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Antonio Carpio has expressed sadness over the passing of former National Security adviser and former Paranaque Representative Roilo Golez.
“We lost true patriot,” said Carpio in a statement on Monday (June 11).
Carpio explained Golez was “an indefatigable defender of the WPS (West Philippine Sea).”
“He embraced lawfare as a peaceful means of asserting our sovereign rights in the WPS,” the chief magistrate said.
“His death strengthens our resolve to carry on,” assured Carpio who also been championing protecting the country’s sovereign rights over the WPS.
Golez, 71, died of a heart attack on Monday.
