After ‘private time’: Will Duterte show up in meetings with police, military?
Will President Rodrigo Duterte attend his meetings with the police and military Thursday (October 4)?
That’s the question on everyone’s minds after Duterte skipped an event Wednesday (October 3) in Malacañang.
At 4 p.m., Duterte is scheduled to have a joint command conference with the top brass of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police in Malacañang.
This will be followed at 7 p.m. with a dinner with the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. (PMAAAI).
Both events are not open to the media.
Speculation about President Rodrigo Duterte’s health are swirling once again after he was a no-show at the turnover of a check from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation Wednesday. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea attended the event in his place.
There were rumors that Duterte was taken to Cardinal Santos Medical Center but the Palace denied it.
“Not true,” said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Asked for the reason behind Duterte’s absence, Roque said: “He wanted private time.”
