Aguirre orders probe on ex-associate lawyer’s killing
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is now looking into the killing of Quezon City Prosecutor Noel Mingoa, as per the order of Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II.
”I already asked the NBI to conduct an investigation and apprehend the perpetrator/s of this heinous crime,” Aguirre said Wednesday (January 11).
That same morning, Mingoa was gunned down in front of a restaurant along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
According to Aguirre, Mingoa was one of his associate lawyers during his days as a private practitioner.
He said that Mingoa was a “good man” and a “competent litigator”.
Mingoa is the second prosecutor to be killed since Mati City Prosecutor Rolando Acido’s ambush on October 26, 2016.
