Kanya-kanyang fashion style ‘yan: Sotto won’t ask senators to dress down during SONA
There are no limitations as far as expressing one’s fashion sense in the Senate is concerned in Congress’ opening of the third regular session in July 23.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III said he’s not imposing any rule prohibiting the traditional “fashion show” at the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Duterte or during the ceremonial opening of the upper chamber’s session in the morning of July 23.
Sotto, when asked on the matter by reporters, said he will not even discourage his colleagues from wearing designer attire in the said events.
“I’ll leave it to their own taste. Hindi naman dapat pakialaman yung sartorial taste or moves ng ating mga kasama,” he simply said.
The House of Representatives, during last year’s SONA discouraged guests from wearing long gowns and fashionable attires.
House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez reminded colleagues and guests that the SONA is not a party or social event so they should come in strictly business attire.
