Ako Bicol is king of party-list groups in 2016
Ako Bicol is guaranteed three seats in the 17th Congress as it garnered the most votes among 113 party-list groups that ran in the 2016 elections.
Ako Bicol received 1.6 million votes or 5.3 percent of all party-list votes.The results are based on 95 percent votes counted by the Commission on Elections’ unofficial and partial transmission of results.
“It has been a long journey for AKO Bicol. From starting out as a non-governmental organization, to almost being disqualified in 2013, to being chosen as the prime choice for party list in the entire nation. We are both humbled and inspired by the overwhelming mandate given to us by our people,” AKO Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel M. Batocabe said in a statement.
Aside from Batocabe, Ako Bicol’s other nominees are Alfredo Garbin and Christopher Co.
This is the second time that Ako Bicol has topped the party-list polls after 2010.
