#Alamnathis: New appointment proves Faeldon is Duterte’s sacred cow – Trillanes
The latest appointment given to former Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon proves that he is a sacred cow under the Duterte administration, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday said.
“Faeldon knows the dark secrets of the Duterte family, that’s why, even if he is grossly incompetent, he remains a sacred cow,” the senator said.
The former BOC chief, who has been detained in the Senate for refusal to cooperate in the BOC smuggling probe, has been named Deputy Administrator III of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) under the Department of National Defense (DND).
President Duterte signed the new appointment papers of Faeldon last Dec. 22.
In the P6.4-billion shabu shipment that passed through the BOC, Trillanes insinuated Faeldon’s involvement claiming that the confiscated drugs was allegedly facilitated by the Davao Group of presidential son and recently-resigned Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.
Faeldon, while he admitted that he once met with presidential son-in-law Atty. Manases Carpio in his office, it was nothing but a professional one.
Carpio and Paolo never asked favors from him, Faeldon said.
