Alejano announces his senatorial bid under LP ticket

There is no turning back for Magdalo Party-list Rep. Gary Alejano in his upcoming senatorial bid for the 2019 midterm polls.
On Tuesday, Alejano announced before members of the House media that he will file his certificate of candidacy for senator this coming Monday, October 15.
“Definitely. 100 percent. Tutuloy akong mag-file (ng candidacy) next Monday, October 15,” said Alejano.
Alejano will run under the Liberal Party-led coalition which also include Magdalo Partylist, Aksyon Demokratiko Party, Akbayan Partylist and Tindig Pilipinas.
Aside from the former rebel soldier, the opposition is also expected to field up to eight candidates in their senatorial slate which include re-electionist Sen. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, De La Salle University College of Law Dean Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno, former Quezon congressman Lorenzo “Erin” Tañada III, election lawyer Romulo Macalintal, and former Bangsamoro Transition Commission member Samira Gutoc.
Former Senator and Interior Sec. Mar Roxas is also included in the opposition’s senatorial line-up although he remains unsure about returning to the Senate.
A multi-decorated former marine captain, Alejano is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) class of 1995.
Alejano together with his other mistahs IN the military like incumbent Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV participated in some of the failed coup attempts during the Arroyo Administration, particularly the July 2003 Oakwood Mutiny and the botched 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.
The partylist solon was given amnesty by former President Benigno Aquino III in 2011.
