Alis dyan! Mocha Uson seeks Rappler’s expulsion from Malacañang Press Corps
SEC revocation fallout
The purging begins.
Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson is demanding the removal of Rappler from the Malacañang Press Corps after the Securities and Exchange Commission revoked its registration over alleged foreign ownership.
Uson started the hashtag #RemoveRapplerfromMalacanang on Facebook, after fellow blogger Sass Rogando Sasot questioned the MPC accreditation of the online entity. MPC is the group of journalists regularly covering the President and other Palace activities.
“Tama nga naman. Kung hindi sila ‘mass media’ bakit nasa MPC pa sila?” Uson wrote on Facebook.
Uson supervises social media aspect of the PCOO, including accreditation of bloggers who want to cover the President.
