Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar believes that “politics” was behind the deferment of its P1.41-billion budget for 2019 approval.

The House of Representatives deferred twice the plenary deliberations on the proposed budget of the PCOO due to the absence of Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, who announced her resignation during a Senate hearing on October 3.

The secretary said Uson skipped the two House budget deliberations because she did not want to be shamed or embarrassed during the hearing.

Andanar said that Uson’s large social media following has become an “irritant for a lot of politicians.”

“As a matter of fact, sa sobrang daming followers in Mocha, if I am not mistaken mga 5.7 million ang kanyang followers sa social media at – actually more than that, kasi meron pa sa YouTube, meron pa siyang Facebook at meron din siyang Twitter at Instagram. So that puts her in a very unique situation, as a matter of fact, parang nag-i-isa lang ata siyang ganyang klaseng personality na napakadaming followers that she can divert or sway an opinion,” the PCOO official said.
