Andy Bautista offers to resign: My family needs me now more than ever
In the wake of corruption allegations and marriage woes, Commission on Elections chair Andy Bautista has offered to step down from his post by the end of the year.
Bautista, in a letter addressed to his COMELEC family, said his resignation was not an easy decision but “my family especially my children need me more than ever.”
“It is with deep sadness that I am informing you about my decision to resign as Chair of the Commission on Elections by the end of the year,” he said.
“I believe I have served the Commission well and the Filipino people to the best of my ability, but only with your faithful and loyal support,” he said.
