Ano ba talaga, kuya? Pacquiao can’t make up mind whether to restore or not CHR’s 2018 budget

Sep 13, 2017 @ 22:32

Just like his eternal struggle in choosing between politcs and boxing, Senator Manny Pacquiao can’t make up his mind whether to restore the Commission on Human Rights’ (CHR) proposed P678 million budget for next year or keep it at P1,000 as approved by the House of Representatives.

Asked to comment on the CHR’s virtual abolition, Pacquiao initially answered the need to restore its budget because of its vital role in the democracy and justice.

So kailangan din ‘yan. Pero wag naman ‘yung gagamitin o magpagamit sila ng mga pulitiko, pangit naman,” he said.
But he appeared to change his mind just seconds after, as Pacquiao defended why his former colleagues in the House

“Siguro ang pinaparamdam ng, sa tingin ko huh, ng Lower House, yung syempre, government nag fu-funding sa ‘yo tapos inaatake mo yung sarili mo, di ba, sarili mong pamamahay,” he said.

In the end, Pacquiao said the issue was better off decided on the Senate floor.

Personally though, the senator is amenable in keeping the institution.
