Ano gagawin natin? Villar says PH powerless vs China

The Philippines may have to remain motionless even as China continues aggressive developments in the West Philippine Sea as Manila is powerless over Beijing, Senator Cynthia Villar said.
“If we ask them to stop and they don’t stop, what we will do? Yun ang problema eh. So, hindi kasi in our control lahat ng mga bagay,” Villar said in a press briefing.
“We are not in world control to stop ang mga bagay,” she added.
Philippine officials have recently expressed alarm over China’s testing of Tian Kun, a massive dredger the size of nine basketball courts.
Despite this, the Philippines has also backed down by halting construction on a sandbar in the disputed waters, on orders of President Duterte ahead of the 31st Asean Summit in Manila next week.
The US continues its “freedom of navigation” sails in the West Philippine Sea, but has failed to sway China from stopping activities.
“Even the United States can’t influence them. Yun ang reality of life in the world,” Villar said.
