Application season open again: JBC vetting aspirants for Bersamin’s SC post
The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) on Friday (December 7) has started accepting applications for a vacant seat at the Supreme Court (SC) which opened up due to the appointment of Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin.
The JBC said those interested for the spot can file their applications until January 22.
“The date of actual receipt by the JBC of the complete documentary requirements shall be deemed as the date of filing,” said the JBC.
“The qualifications of applicants shall be reckoned from the said the deadline,” it added.
Bersamin is the 7th appointee of President Rodrigo Duterte at the SC and the chief executive’s second chief justice.
The Chief Justice was appointed for the position on Nov. 26 and formally took his oath of office on Nov. 28.
