Armed and ready: Here’s what applicants need to bring for Labor Day job fairs

For the country’s 115th Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment has organized at least 50 job and business fairs nationwide on May 1.

But this early, DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III advised applicants to be “armed and ready” with their requirements.

“We are having more than 50 job and business fairs as among the highlights of the Labor Day celebration,” he said.

The theme of this year’s Labor Day is “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago.”

Bello said applicants should bring:

– resume or curriculum vitae
– 2×2 ID pictures
– certificate of employment for those formerly employed
– diploma and/or transcript of records
– authenticated birth certificate

The job and business fairs on May 1 include:

National Capital Region (NCR):
– City Hall and Fisher Mall in Quezon City
– Ayala Mall in Muntinlupa City
– basketball court behind City Hall in Parañaque City
– Vista Mall in Taguig City
– Robinsons Mall in Las Piñas City
– Valenzuela Astrodome in Valenzuela City
– Bonifacio Monument in Manila
– City Hall in Malabon City
– City Hall in Pasay City

Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR):
– Baguio Convention Center

Ilocos Region (Region 1):
– Robinsons, Ilocos Norte and Lingayen, Pangasinan

Cagayan Valley (Region 2):
– Ilagan, Isabela
– Mall of the Valley, Tuguegarao

Central Luzon (Region 3):
– SM City Baliuag, Bulacan
– Provincial Old Capitol Freedom Park, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija
– SM City Clark, Pampanga
– SM City Downtown and SM City Pampanga, City of San Fernando, Pampanga
– Metro Town Mall, Sto. Cristo, Tarlac City, Tarlac
– People’s Park, Iba, Zambales

CALABARZON (Region 4A):
– Pacific Mall, Lucena City
– Centro Mall, Cabuyao
– Cultural Center, Sta. Cruz, Laguna
– The District Mall, Imus, Cavite

MIMAROPA (Region 4B):

SOCCSKSARGEN (Region 12):

Pre-Labor Day job fairs were also scheduled April 20 to 29 in Calabarzon, including:
– Robinson’s Place, Antipolo City
– Calamba City Hall
– Tanay Municipal Hall
– San Jose Municipal Gymnasium
– Mainsquare Mall, Bacoor City
– Batangas City Sports Coliseum
– Calamba City, Laguna

A job and business fair is scheduled on May 5 in Vista Mall, Balanga City, Bataan.
