Arroyo after exorcising plunder raps: Move on na

Apr 20, 2017 @ 19:27

For Pampanga 2nd district Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, it’s already time to move on from her plunder case–the same case that has given her great hardship the past few years.

“We can now move forward and take stock of what remains to be done to help this current administration achieve its goals of giving a better life to all Filipinos,” Arroyo, a former president, told House reporters Thursday, April 20.

Two day earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) reiterated her exoneration from the alleged misuse of P365 million Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) intelligence funds when she was still the chief executive.

The case led to Arroyo’s hospital arrest from 2012 to 2016.

“I am delighted with the Supreme Court decision ruling with finality my acquittal of the charges filed against me with respect to the PCSO case…I feel fortunate that I was given the chance to clear my name. It is truly a vindication,” added the 70-year-old Arroyo.

The High Tribunal first ruled on the congresswoman’s innocence from the plunder charge on July 19, 2016.
