Ay ewan! Duterte doesn’t wanna know who kills drug suspects… but says he’s willing to take lives
President Rodrigo Duterte has acknowledged that the administration’s war on drugs has led to the deaths of scores of drug suspects, but insisted he does not know who’s behind the killings.
In his speech at the inauguration of a bridge in Davao del Norte Thursday (May 18), Duterte warned the public to stay away from illegal drugs.
“Iwasan talaga ninyo. Ito three years halos ubos na ‘yan. May namamatay sabihin mo lang 100 a day, meron. Kung sinong pumapatay, ay ewan ko. Ayaw kong malaman. Pero kung tanungin mo ako, sige trabaho,” he said.
Earlier in his speech, however, Duterte bragged about having the balls to kill people– something which he said his late father, former Davao governor Vicente Duterte– never did.
“Eh tatay ko kasi hindi pumapatay ‘yon maski daga. Eh sa panahon ko, hindi daga pinapatay ko, tao talaga. Mga p***** i*** talagang mga, ang titigas ng ulo eh,” he said.
Human rights groups have taken Duterte to task for the deaths of over 9,000 drug suspects since his term began in June last year, saying his war against narcotics have emboldened the police and vigilante groups to kill.
