Bahala kayo! Robredo won’t order LP lawmakers to leave ‘supermajority’
Vice President Leni Robredo is leaving it up to her party mates from the Liberal Party to decide whether they should stay in the supermajority coalition in the House of Representatives since their counterparts from the Senate have already joined the minority.
“Tingin ko kasi na it’s a decision na dapat sila ay gumawa. Kasi hindi naman ako bahagi doon,” Robredo told reporters after attending a forum at the University of the Philippines Los Baños Friday (April 21).
While the Vice President acknowledged there was a previous agreement with her party mates in the House to support the administration, she said there’s no stopping any one of them from joining the minority coalition.
“Gawin yung lahat ng magkakaya para maging supportive sa administration, iyon ang decision. At iyong hindi nagsang-ayon doon, iyon ang sumali sa minority,” she said.
LP president Senator Francis Pangilinan, and Senators Risa Hontiveros, Leila de Lima and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV jumped ship to the minority early this year in a major reshuffle in the Senate.
