Malacanang has tagged the Magdalo Group as one of those plotting to have President Rodrigo Duterte ousted.

Magdalo was a group of rebel soldiers headed by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV who staged the August 2003 Oakwood mutiny against former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

They also took part in the 2007 Manila Peninsula Hotel siege.

“Siyempre itong grupong Magdalo ay talaga namang iyan ang kanilang hobby ‘no magpatalsik ng gobyerno, bagama’t hindi naman sila nagwawagi,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr., in a television interview, said on Tuesday.

On Saturday Duterte accused Trillanes and the former administration Liberal Party of being in cahoots with the Communist Party of the Philippines to remove him from the post by October.

The spokesman said many LP members have not moved on from their loss in the last elections.
