Beast mode sa murahan: De Lima claims Duterte is off his rocker

Apr 1, 2017 @ 9:47

Senator Leila de Lima on Friday (Mar. 31) has joined those who have been giving President Duterte a beating for blaming the media and other critics for being unfair to him and his administration.

“Why blame the media when there is much of Duterte’s behaviour and that of his circle of sycophants that warrants scrutiny and even censure?” the senator said in her handwritten note.

“We are even seeing now infightings among his privileged men and women, if left unchecked, can only harm the public good,” De Lima, obviously referring to the ongoing rift between House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Duterte’s party mate in the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) and his biggest campaign contributor, Davao del Norte Rep. Antonio “Tonyboy” Floirendo.

The senator pointed out that the President has the tendency to blame everyone except himself.

“His gross intolerance to dissent and criticisms is undoubtedly among the top qualities of this President. Duterte’s unabashed contempt to media and other critics is intensifying and his resort to toxic or vitriol language is at a seeming apex. Indeed, as today’s PDI (Philippine Daily Inquirer) editorial puts it, he has lost the argument. And I go further, he has lost his mind (and for quite a while already),” De Lima said.

Instead of casting blame on others, the detained senator gave this unsolicited advice to Duterte: “Go fix yourself first and your own backyard Mr. President, before picking a fight with everybody else.”
