Bebot Alvarez fed up with Art Tugade’s inaction on traffic: Nakakapagod na

Dec 11, 2016 @ 16:01

Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has had enough of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade’s failure to improve the traffic problem and other transportation issues after nearly six months in office.

In an interview with DZMM’s Ted Failon, Alvarez said that Tugade was apparently waiting for Congress to bestow him with “emergency powers” through President Rodrigo Duterte before he acting on the worsening traffic gridlock and the lingering delays in the distribution of driver’s licences and license plates.

“Opo.

If Tugade wil continue to sit on the country’s transportation woes until Congress has granted his emergency powers, this means that no solution was in sight before the end of the year as Alvarez has already declared that Congress would not pass it befo‎re adjournment even at the committee level.

Alvarez said the biggest stumbling block was Tugade’s insistence on entering into massive contracts ‎without going through the mandatory biddings.

” Hindi po. Mahihirapan tayo doon Ted.
