Berna Romulo Puyat tells Charlie Cojuangco’s constituents: Pakisabi sa kanya ‘wag akong iwan!
Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo Puyat has appealed to voters in Tarlac to help keep her relationship with First District Representative Carlos “Charlie” Cojuangco alive amid the demands of her new job.
In an interview over dzBB radio Thursday (May 17), Puyat candidly issued a message to Cojuangco’s constituents ahead of his reelection bid in 2019.
“Sa mga bumoboto sa kanya (Cojuangco), pakisabi ‘wag niya akong iwan,” she said.
Puyat, a widow, admitted that her appointment as Tourism Secretary has caused a strain in her relationship with Cojuangco, her boyfriend of two years.
She said the lawmaker, who is a widower, recently told her she might not have time for him anymore now that she’s in charge of the Department of Tourism (DOT).
“Ano ba ‘yan, nung USec ka wala kang time sa akin. Mas wala ka nang time sa akin ngayon,” Puyat quoted Cojuangco as saying.
Asked for her message to the congressman, Puyat said: “Charlie, don’t give up on us.”
The Tourism Secretary said she will ask St. Jude, the patron saint for desperate causes, to make her relationship with Cojuangco last.
