Bong Go steps up publicity game by daring Allan Caidic, Chris Tiu to 3-point shootout
Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go continues to raise his public profile by joining not just political events, but also those related to sports.
Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner Willie Marcial has revealed that Go will take part in a three-point shootout against retired PBA star Allan Caidic and Rain or Shine guard Chris Tiu at the Digos leg of the PBA All-Star weekend.
Go is a known basketball aficionado, watching PBA games when he has the chance.
Caidic earned the moniker “Triggerman” for his prowess in making three-point shots. In 1991, he set a new record in the PBA as the player with the most number of treys in a game at 17.
Tiu, meanwhile, was known for his stellar collegiate career with the Ateneo Blue Eagles before turning pro.
Go has become more visible in the public eye since Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol pushed him to run for senator in 2019.
In response to the clamor, President Rodrigo Duterte’s long time aide said the elections are still far away.
