Cavite Rep. Edwin “Strike” Revilla is delighted by the Sandiganbayan’s decision acquitting his brother, former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. of plunder.
In a statement, Revilla said his brother’s acquittal at the Sandiganbayan, four after being detained inside the Camp Crame in Quezon City was the best gift for their family this Christmas season.
“Senator Bong will finally be free, and this is our best Christmas gift. We thank our God, the people of Cavite, and our supporters for this wonderful present,” he said.
“The Revilla family and the people of Cavite welcome the decision by Sandiganbayan acquitting Senator Bong Revilla of any charges. We are very happy that truth prevailed,” he added.
The younger Revilla said it was a great relief for the family to welcome home the former two-term senator “who was incarcerated and denied justice for years.”
“We thank them (Sandiganbayan Justices) for being fair,” he said.
