Bongbong accuses SC’s Justice Caguioa of favoring Robredo: Kaklase kasi ni PNoy!
Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has accused Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Benjamin Caguioa of favoring Vice President Leni Robredo concerning the election protest against her.
Marcos pointed out Caguioa is the ponente of the rulings issued by the SC, sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), in favor of Robredo.
“It has now become fairly obvious that his resolutions are biased against me and biased in favour my oppositor,” Marcos said on Wednesday (January 10).
Marcos also reminded Caguioa was appointed by former President Benigno Aquino III who has been the magistrate’s classmate from elementary to college at the Ateneo De Manila University.
Though the PET is a collegial body composed of 15 justices of the SC, the former Senator said it is Caguioa who was assigned the case and decides and issues the minute resolutions regarding his protest.
Among the rulings Caguioa penned, Marcos cited as early as April 2017 the PET gave him only two working days to pay his initial P36 million protest fee.
On the other hand, Marcos said Robredo hand, did not to pay on the deadline set by the PET and instead Caguioa gave her an extension.
“Yung aking kalaban pinagbayad sya sa counter-protest nya na P7 million pero hindi sya nagbayad. Pero binigyan sya ng extension. Pero hindi pa rin nakapagbayad at dinefer pa rin. Sa batas sinasabi kapag hindi pa nakapagbayad, ididismiss na yung kaso,” Marcos recounted.
