Bongga! Marcos’ 100th birthday celebration set at Libingan: Imelda making sure it’s a star-studded affair
The Marcoses have chosen the Libingan ng mga Bayani to celebrate the 100th birthday of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos on September 11.
Citing a source close to the Marcoses, the Philippine Star reported Wednesday (September 6) that former First Lady and now Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos is in charge of planning the celebration.
“It’s a family affair, plus friends and guests,” the source said.
In true Imeldific fashion, another source said ranking government officials and foreign diplomats have been invited to the event.
It’s unknown whether President Rodrigo Duterte was invited to the celebration.
Duterte allowed Marcos to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani last November despite heavy criticism.
The President recently disclosed plans by the Marcos family to return a portion of their ill-gotten wealth.
He said the Marcoses may seek immunity in exchange for giving back the money that the late strongman stole.
