Call him Duterte’s Dick: Trillanes blasts Gordon for EJK coverup in panel report
Senator Antonio Trillanes has slammed Senator Richard Gordon for allegedly covering up evidence of President Rodrigo Duterte’s involvement in extrajudicial killings in the report released by the Senate committee on justice and human rights which he chairs.
Trillanes’ criticized Gordon Wednesday (Dec. 7), a day after his colleague presented highlights of the report, among them that killings of suspected criminals are not state sponsored.
While Trillanes said the draft report has no value yet because majority of the committee members hasn’t signed it, he said its findings prove Gordon “is a Duterte lackey” for stopping the hearings, and covering up alleged evidence of the President’s involvement in EJKs and his supposed condonation of the Davao Death Squad when he was mayor.
Trillanes said the Senate panel’s recommendation for the filing of murder and perjury charges against self-confessed hitman Edgar Matobato for the killing of suspected terrorist Sali Makdum only shows his “twisted logic.”
“On one hand, he believed Matobato’s statements regarding Sali Makdum. But, on the other hand, he does not believe Matobato’s serious allegations against President Duterte,” he said.
