Calling it quits? Roque goes on leave after talk with Duterte
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has gone on leave starting Monday (October 8), according to his staff.
Members of the Malacañang Press Corps received the announcement about Roque going on leave a few minutes after his staff announced he will hold a press briefing at 11:30 a.m.
No reason was given for Roque’s absence.
In lieu of a press conference, Roque’s staff asked reporters instead to send their requests for statements via Viber.
Politiko earlier reported that Roque started shooting television ads for his senatorial bid on Saturday (October 6).
The production for a commercial pushed through even if President Rodrigo Duterte has asked Roque to defer his political plans and head the soon to be revived Office of the Press Secretary.
Duterte and Roque met on Sunday (October 7) but details of what they talked about remains unknown.
