Capiz not exclusive to me nor LP – Mar Roxas
Brushing off allegations of the camp of Senator Grace Poe, administration standard bearer Mar Roxas said his home province of Capiz is open to all presidential candidates who wish to hold campaign sorties there.
“Hindi ko pinagbabawal at bukas ang Capiz para sa kahit sinong kandidato na maghayag ng kanilang plataporma,” Roxas said.
Poe, one of Roxas’ opponents for the presidency, earlier claimed that they were barred from holding a forum in a Capiz school, hinting that partisan politics was behind it.
“Palagay ko walang katotohanan iyan, wala naman kayong nasabi kung sinong nagsabi o kung anuman iyan,” Roxas said.
Akbayan Rep. Ibarra Gutierrez, a spokesperson for the Liberal Party, said Poe shouldn’t lay the blame on Roxas just because she didn’t get enough support as she expected.
“If the people choose not to show up at an event organized by Senator Poe’s campaign, that is their obvious prerogative as citizens, and a clear indication of their preference as voters,” Gutierrez said.
