I-career nyo! 6K GenSan students get guidance
Some 6,000 high school students in General Santos City benefited from career guidance services at the three-day Gensan Edukasyon Fair 2017 there.
The fair, held Aug. 7 to 9, is part of a national campaign for SHS spearheaded by social enterprise site Edukasyon.ph and supported by the Department of Education.
During the opening sessions, students interacted with top “entrepreneurs, innovators and creative thinkers” who succeeded in their chosen careers, Edukasyon.ph partnerships manager Annalie Edday said (http://www.mindanews.com/top-stories/2017/08/6000-hs-students-in-gensan-get-career-guidance/).
She added they expect to provide students with a better view of the educational tracks that best fit their talents and interests.
Among the top entrepreneurs at the fair were former Sarangani Gov. Miguel Rene Dominguez, now vice president of the Saragani Agricultural Company Inc.; and Gino Canlas, application/web specialist of Edukasyon.ph.
The DepEd city division lists 18,273 Senior High School students in public and private schools.
Similar fairs are to be held in Davao, Zamboanga and Tagum Cities.
