Cesar Montano justifies leaving DOT’s New York event to watch musical: Bored na ‘yung mga tao!
Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Cesar Montano pointed to bored guests as the reason why he hurriedly left a dinner co-hosted by his agency in New York to watch a musical.
Montano made the explanation to Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo Puyat during their meeting Wednesday (May 16).
In an interview over dzBB radio Thursday (May 17), Puyat shared Montano’s justification for leaving Philippine Tourism Presentation and Dinner Reception on May 9 after speaking for only two minutes.
“Nandoon naman daw siya nang matagal. Tapos nung nagsalita siya feeling niya medyo bored na raw ‘yung audience,” Puyat said.
Politiko reported that guests were dismayed by Montano’s actions at the dinner because he was supposed to take the lead in promoting tourism in the absence of then-Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo.
The dinner was jointly organized by TPB and the Department of Tourism.
