Cha-Cha hearing makes Ping a proud Senate member: Eksperto sa Konstitusyon mga naimbita!
After Wednesday’s Senate hearing on Charter change, Sen. Panfilo Lacson said he is proud to be a member of the institution.
Lacson said this is due to the high level of discourse at the hearing, even as he cited the “learned and experienced” resource persons for this.
“With the elevated level of discourse happening in today’s Senate committee hearing on Charter change, I can’t help but say, I’m proud to be a member of this Senate. Thanks to our learned and experienced resource persons, especially Ex Chief Justice Reynato Puno,” he said (https://twitter.com/iampinglacson/status/953503505964150784).
Aside from Puno, former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr., former Justice Adolfo Azcuna and former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel Jr. acted as resource persons.
Lacson earlier noted that of the resource persons, at least three were in favor of revising or amending the Constitution.
The resource persons provided senators with their insights on amending the 1987 Constitution, and on the consequences of doing so via a constituent assembly.
