Dapat hayaan ang korte! Palace tells Trillanes to accept SC’s junking of TRO plea

Malacanang has asked Senator Antonio Trillanes IV to “accept” the Supreme Court decision to junk his petition for halt order against Proclamation No. 572.
The proclamation ordered the voiding of Trillanes’ amnesty over his failure to comply with the minimum requirements.
It also authorized the military and police “to employ all lawful means to apprehend” the former Navy lieutenant.
“It’s the SC upholding the supremacy of the Constitution. (President Duterte) respected the Supreme Court and it has spoken. Sen. Trillanes now has to accept the ruling,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said on Tuesday.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court ruled to deny Trillanes’ request for temporary restraining order, its spokesperson Maria Victoria Gleoresty Guerra said.
“It is appropriate that the Makati RTCs should be given leeway in exercising their concurrent jurisdiction to hear and resolve the pleadings/motions filed by the parties as regards the legality of Proclamation No. 572,” it said.
Roque also stressed that Duterte’s proclamation no longer has legal impediment.
“Senator Trillanes sought to restrain implementation of the Presidential Proclamation No. 572. The Supreme Court denied the application for TRO…. He had his day in court and he failed,” he said.
