Di pa tapos ang sibakan! Duterte to fire another chair of gov’t agency, 3 police generals
President Rodrigo Duterte is set to fire another chairperson of a government agency and three police generals over allegations of corruption.
Duterte announced his plan in a speech Thursday (January 11) during the kick off rites of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s (PAGCOR’s) Game On! All In! for Nation Building.
“I am in the thick of firing people. I intend to fire another maybe 70 or 49 policemen and three generals for corruption,” he said.
Duterte said there will be a “purging regime” in the next few days as he seeks to cleanse the government.
“I am firing another chairman of an entity in government maybe this week and another set of mga policemen,” he said.
Earlier this month, Duterte fired Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) administrator Marcial Amaro III over his frequent overseas trips. His dismissal came at the heels of the President’s termination of Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor chairperson Terry Ridon over the same offense.
