DOJ says ISIS woman still in PH
Justice Undersecretary Erickson Balmes admitted that the arrested female member of the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has not yet been deported.
“We’re still coordinating po with the Syrian Embassy,” said Balmes.
Balmes disclosed that arrangements are being made to secure tickets for Syrian Rahaf Zina so she can be deported to Syria where her government is eagerly awaiting her arrival.
Rahaf remains detained at the facility of the Philippine Army’s Intelligence Service Group (ISG) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. This, even as the Bureau of Immigration (BI) already issued a summary deportation order which also led to her blacklisting from the country.
Rahaf is the widow of the late Abu Jandal Al-Kuwaiti, the number two military commander of ISIS operating in Syria.
The BI arrested Rahaf and fellow ISIS member, Kuwaiti bomb expert Hussein Aldhafiri, last March 25 in Taguig City at the request of the Kuwaiti Embassy.
Aldhafiri was already deported to Kuwait on April 14.
