Drilon urges Duterte to disclose health status: Nasa batas ‘yan!
The citizenry has the right, under the 1987 Constitution, to be informed of the real health status of the President.
Senate Minority Leader Frank Drilon stressed this when asked whether Malacanang must reveal the exact medical condition of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and Special Assistant to the President Bong Go earlier denied report that Mr. Duterte had been confined.
However, the President himself confirmed on Thursday that he underwent an hour-long check-up at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
Fellow opposition Senator Kiko Pangilinan said, “The problem is we do not know if the President is serious or not. If this is true or simply another remark he will claim to be a joke.”
“If he is serious then full disclosure is required,” said Pangilinan, also Liberal Party president.
He added, “But if not then it would be best that we stop such talk and focus our time and attention on looking for solutions to the serious problems of spiralling high prices of food, gasoline and other basic commodities.”
