Duterte appoints Jesus Dureza’s niece as Office of the President Assistant Secretary
By Prince Golez
Expect a much closer relationship between President Rodrigo Duterte and Presidential Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza as the former appointed Atty. Charmalou Dureza Aldevera as Assistant Secretary under the Office of the President.
Duterte signed the appointment paper of Aldevera, who was earlier considered to take the post vacated by former special assistant to the president Christopher Go, who resigned to run for senator in the May 2019 midterm elections, last October 31.
Dureza’s niece worked as legal counsel to Duterte’s close friend, Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Apollo Quiboloy.
She likewise represented the President’s son, Paolo Duterte when the Board of Canvassers proclaimed his victory for the vice mayoral post in 2016.
Aldevera received her bachelor’s degree in accountancy at the Ateneo de Davao University and earned her law degree from the Ateneo de Davao Law School.
