Duterte believes armed troops over CHR, criminals: Kalaban yan!
President Rodrigo Duterte will continue believing in the accounts of soldiers and policemen in armed encounters even if other entities doubt them.
In a speech before the government troops in Marawi City Thursday (August 24), Duterte also reiterated his disdain for the Commission on Human Rights.
“So yun na mga questionable na mga patayan, dito ako maniwala sa inyo. Hindi man ako maniwala sa criminal pati sa Human Rights. Kalaban natin ‘yan sila,” he said.
Duterte, however, said soldiers and policemen must tell him the truth.
“Kaya kailangan sabihan niyo ako sa totoo. If there’s something to be corrected at madala pa natin ng — ‘Yan ang maasahan ninyo sa akin,” he said.
Duterte has repeatedly assured soldiers and policemen of his protection if ever they face criminal charges in the course of performing their duty.
