Duterte blasts Gascon, HR for silence on women hostages raped daily by Maute: Bakit EJK lang sinasakyan niyo?
President Rodrigo Duterte might have made an infamous rape joke during the campaign. But this time, Duterte said the horrible fate of Marawi’s women who have been treated like sex slaves by Maute terrorists since their capture last May 23 was no laughing matter.
Duterte said it was tragic that the plight of these women hostages has been largely ignored by the Chito Gascon and his Commission on Human Rights who chose to be fixated on extra-judicial killings in his brutal drug war, specifically the death of teenagers in Caloocan City.
“Sabi ko anong masakit sa akin? Ang masakit sa akin ‘yung mga hostages na babae. Nire-rape araw-araw, tatlong buwan na, tatlong buwan na,” said Duterte in an interview with PTV-4 Tuesday night.
“What choice do you have? The women. They cook, they wash and serve the bodies of the terrorists to satisfy their physical hunger,” he added.
With the Marawi siege on its 120th day, the Armed Forces of the Philippines estimated that there were still 50 hostage left in the remaining territory (roughly 10 hectares) held by Maute inside Marawi.
“Wala man lang kayong empathy to protest.Kaya diyan ako na-ano ng (lungkot) na wala lang man akong (narinig) even from the women’s rights. That makes me sad” he said.
“Kaya ako ‘pag ka ganun, kita mo lumalaban talaga ako. Ibig sabihin, bastos for bastos. Kung kilala nila ako, ganun talaga pagkatao ko. Sabihin niyo bastos ako. So what? Talagang bastos ako.
Duterte said CHR’s silence on the plight of the Marawi women hostages has become even more glaring as it chose to criticize his war on drugs almost every day.
“‘Yang issue na pabalik-balik, pabalik-balik, gobyerno rin sila eh. Tapos wala na kayong iba. ‘Yung ibang ka — Namatay dito, patayan, ini-ignore na ninyo. Parang walang nangyari sa ibang tao. Ito lang ‘yung mga sinasakyan ninyo,” said Duterte.
