Duterte distances self from granddaughter Isabelle’s controversial debut photoshoot: Biyenan ni Pulong ang may pakana
President Rodrigo Duterte claimed he had nothing to do with granddaughter Isabelle’s controversial photoshoot in Malacañang for her debut, close to a year after the photos spread on the internet.
In a speech in Boracay Thursday (November 8), Duterte claimed the photoshoot was the idea of the family of Isabelle’s mother, Lovelie Sangkola Sumera.
Isabelle’s mother was the former wife of Duterte’s son, erstwhile Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte.
“Si Pulong naman, tumakbo ng vice mayor, nag-resign siya napahiya siya nung anak niya na ginamit niya ‘yung kwarto ng — ‘yung seal of the President. Nakakahiya man talaga ‘yon but it was done by the in-laws not — hindi sa akin,” the President said.
Isabelle drew flak for the lavish photoshoot, which saw her posing in various gowns at rooms inside Malacañang.
The President’s granddaughter celebrated her debut last January at the Peninsula Manila hotel in Makati City.
