Duterte does the ‘dab!’ Skateboarding champ Didal makes ‘The Punisher’ loosen up
President Rodrigo Duterte was convinced by skateboarding champion Margielyn Didal to do a wacky pose when he hosted her and other athletes in Malacañang Wednesday (September 12) to celebrate the medals they won at the 2018 Asian Games.
During the awarding ceremony, Didal egged Duterte on to do the “dab,” or pose with his arms outstretched and his head slightly bowed.
At first, the President appeared uninterested to heed Didal’s wish. However, when the skateboarding champ insisted, he obliged, much to the audience’s delight.
Duterte even jokingly gave Didal a karate chop on her head because of her antic.
Didal won a gold medal in skateboarding at the Asian Games recently held in Indonesia.
Duterte said he has directed the Philippine Sports Commission to provide additional financial incentives to the winners of the 2018 Asian Games.
“Let me assure our athletes that you have my continued support in developing yourselves as you pursue your respective discipline,” he said in his speech.
