Duterte learned everything from his father except patience: He couldn’t kill even a rat
President Rodrigo Duterte is everything he is now because of his father, Vicente Duterte.
Duterte looked up to his father as a role model during his teenage years when Vicente served as Governor of Davao from 1959 to 1965 and as Secretary for General Services of then President Ferdinand Marcos fro 1965 to 1968.
Vicente was also appointed acting mayor of Danao town in Cebu from 1946 to 1948. In 1949, Vicente moved his family, including a four-year old Duterte, from Cebu to Davao.
