Missing 4 days: Even Andanar doesn’t know what Duterte is doing
Even Communications Secretary Martin Andanar is in the dark about what President Rodrigo Duterte has been up to lately since he’s been out of the public eye for four days now.
In an interview over dzBB radio Saturday (June 24), Andanar said he does not have Duterte’s schedule with him.
“Wala sa harapan ko ang schedule, sabi kasi nung di pa delikado, mga four days ahead binibigay na ‘yung schedule pero ngayon alam mo na ‘yung security, heightened alert tayo so ang schedule binibigay samin on the day itself,” he explained.
While Andanar said Duterte was currently in Davao City, he admitted that he last saw the President’s long time aide– who’s always by his side– on June 22.
“Nasa Mindanao po si Pangulo ngayon. Actually nung Thursday kami huling nagkasama ni SAP (Special Assistant to the President) Bong Go. Nasa Mindanao siya ngayon, sa Davao,” he said.
Duterte’s last public appearance was on June 20, when he visited evacuees in Iligan City and wounded soldiers in Cagayan de Oro City.
He was also out of the public eye for five days last week, creating speculation about his health.
But just like other administration officials, Andanar said Duterte was just resting.
“Talagang nagpahinga lang ang pangulo, napapagod na. Alam mo naman hindi naman robot si presidente, tao, napapagod… ilang araw siyang naglamay sa mga namatay na sundalo kaya natural lamang na napapagod ang tao,” he said.
