Duterte mocks Alejano for linking Israel trip to health: Kung operahan nila utak ko mas maganda!
President Rodrigo Duterte has scoffed at the claim of Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano that a Cabinet Secretary will fly to Israel ahead of his scheduled visit next month for matters related to his health.
In an interview in Taguig City Monday (August 27), Duterte turned sarcastic at Alejano’s allegation about the purpose of Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu’s trip to Israel.
“Eh kung operahan nila ang utak ko doon eh di mas maganda. Wala mang problem,” he said at the sidelines of the commemoration of National Heroes’ Day.
“And then I can have my stomach open, my chest open and my brain,” he added.
When a reporter remarked that Duterte’s critics may take his remarks seriously, the President replied: “Eh di ipakuha ko nalang ‘yung ano ko dumi, i-reserba ko sa kanya.”
On Saturday (August 25), Alejano tweeted that Cimatu will be flying to Israel this week not to check on the condition of Filipino workers, as the administration claimed, but for a matter related to Duterte’s health.
Duterte, however, said Cimatu will be in Israel ahead of him to check on the status of Filipino workers because “there’s something abrewing” in the area.
“That’s why I am bringing Cimatu to prepare for that eventuality and just in case war breaks out there,” he said.
Duterte said several retiring military officials will join his official visit to Israel in the first week of September.
“That is my gift to them for serving the country well,” he said.
