Still feeling the ‘cesspool’ vibe? Duterte won’t swim in Boracay visit

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he will visit Boracay island not to swim but to distribute land reform certificates to resident farmers there.
“I will go to Boracay to distribute the land titles of the big track of land sa likod ng Boracay kasi sigurado papasok yang… I have nothing to do with… Pero kung ibigay ko lang diyan, para gawing condo, hotel…” Duterte said in a speech in Taguig City.
The chief executive said for so many years, the popular tourist destination accommodated tourists beyond its carrying capacity.
“Boracay can handle only so much. You overpopulate the swimmer there you’ll get shit in return. Ganoon ka rami. So, sabi ko ang mabuti nito… And they are speculating na ibigay ko sa Hong Kong, p*ta… Sabi ko, ibigay ko sa tao yan. I will go there just to distribute the titles. I won’t go there for a swim,” he added.
Boracay will officially reopen to general public on October 26. The government partially opened the island to locals for a dry run from October 15 to 25.
